Beaumont at the Empire State Building

Beaumont has family ties to this magnificent edifice dating back to it's original construction in 1930.

It was completed in one year and 45 days (ahead of schedule). With 102 floors, The Empire State Building is 1,454 feet tall to the top of the lightning rod. It is heated by the local public utility supplying steam and utilizing miles of radiator pipe. Air conditioning is provided by 7,450 tons of refrigeration equipment. (The air conditioning was installed in 1950 and upgraded with new equipment in 1984). 70 miles of pipe provide water to tanks at various levels with the uppermost at the 101st floor, satisfying average daily demands of 26,500 cubic feet.

Beaumont's most recent activity here has been the 4th floor accessory network and the sub-basement condenser water piping.
